Indian Balanced Diet Plan for Weight Loss for Vegetarians

Obesity problem can be seen in a lot of Indians these days. The main culprit behind people gaining weight is their unhealthy lifestyle (eating habits & no or less activities).

It is also difficult to stay fit with so many festivals and traditional events being held on most of the days of the year.

Losing weight doesn’t just mean sweating in the Gym. We should also be careful about what we eat and when we eat. The combination of diet and exercise is the perfect way to lose oodles of weight safely without affecting your health (in a bad way). Do note that you can’t outrun a bad diet with exercise.

P.S: This is not the Indian GM Diet Plan and hence there are a few restrictions on the quantity of foods you should eat. This diet helps in creating a calorie deficit, thereby causing weight loss.

Indian Vegetarian Diet Plan for Weight Loss in 7 Days

Weight Loss is only possible when you reduce some calories through diet and at the same time increase calorie expenditure through exercise. That means, if your BMI says that you require 2500 calories per day for maintenance, then you should cut down 500 calories from the diet and burn 500 more calories through exercising. On a whole you’re cutting down 1000 calories per day, which equals to 7000 calories per week or 1Kg. Losing 1 kg per week is considered healthy and anything more than that would bring up on some health complications in the future. You also get loose skin if you lose a lot of pounds so quickly.

As a thumb rule, do aim for a 1 or 2 pounds (1 kg) weight loss per week.

Note: GM Diet Program helps you lose around 5 to 7 pounds in a week. But, don’t worry about the health complications as you’re losing weight by flushing out impurities (waste) from your body. It is just a simple 7 day diet program that detoxes your body of impurities, thereby helping you shed weight quickly. However, it should not be followed continuously. And the followers would get back their weight if they don’t follow a healthy lifestyle after completing the GM diet.

That is the reason, why we’ve suggested the GM diet followers to eat a well-balanced diet in order to maintain their weight loss results.

In addition to these low calorie meal plans, I’m discussing about the Ideal Indian weight loss diet plan for vegetarians, which should (can) be followed after the General Motors diet program in order to either maintain or lose weight further.

Tips to Remember for Successful Weight Loss

In order to lose weight successfully with our Indian vegetarian diet plan, you’ll need to follow a few tips that could dilute your chances of losing pounds if not followed.

  • No Alcohol or Sodas. They contain nothing but empty calories. Instead drink 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. It will not only help in flushing out impurities but also make you feel full so that you don’t look out for alternative snacks.
  • Don’t skip your breakfast. The first meal of the day is very important for a healthy metabolism.
  • Along with the diet, do exercise for at least 30 minutes daily. It can be anything – Walking, Jogging, Running, Strength training, Aerobics or Cardio. But, try to maintain HIIT pattern while performing any of the above exercises. An increased heart rate would burn more calories in less time.
  • Ensure that fruits and vegetables are included in your diet as they’re rich in fiber content, which helps in proper digestion.
  • Say no to junk or fast foods like Pizza, Pastries, Ice creams, Sodas, Noodles etc…They just increase your fat percentage without filling your stomach. Instead, munch on healthy food choices like Sprouts, nuts, salads etc…
  • Try to eat less quantities of food multiple times a day. That means, have a minimum of 5 small meals a day – breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, evening snack, and dinner.
  • Foods to avoid for better weight loss results include – Potato, White rice, White bread and all types of fast foods.
  • Foods to include in your diet are – Moong dal, Beetroot, Black beans, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Tomatoes, Garlic, Cabbage, Whole grain cereals, Apple, Watermelon, Banana, Orange, Pineapple, Papaya, Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios, Soya, Skimmed milk, Flax seeds etc…All these foods are rich in essential nutrients and are also low in fats.

Following this healthy 7 days Indian vegetarian diet plan helps you lose weight naturally and safely. Since we’re distributing the calorie restriction between the diet and exercise, the weight loss results would stay longer if we stick to this healthy lifestyle.
