As we’ve already seen, the fruits play a vital role in the GM diet plan for weight loss. Generally, fruits are satiating as most of them contain lots of water. The fruits are nutrient-dense and are low in calories. They contain lots of fiber and thus aids in digestion.

Fruits can also help keep the sweet-tooth under good control. So, when you make eating such fruits your daily habit, you’ll be less likely to munch on the fast foods or unhealthy snacks. This will help you be under your daily caloric goal, thereby letting yourself lose weight naturally.

P.S: If you’re following the 7 day General Motors diet, then you can have all these fruits (except bananas) on the days when the fruits are allowed i.e., day 1, day 3 and day 7. On the day 4, you can have the bananas.

All the below listed fruits are wholesome in themselves and so you don’t crave for unnecessary foods after eating them. However, in order to reap the weight loss benefits of these fruits, it is advised to have them in moderation.

Out of all the fruits available, Avocado has got many special health benefits and it is also the best weight loss friendly fruit. The Avocado is rich in Omega 9 fatty acids and is very efficient in boosting your metabolism. If you don’t know already, rise in the metabolic rate helps your body burn more fat than usual. So, what are you waiting for? Prepare a vegetable salad with this special ingredient and lose pounds easily.

2.Watermelon


I’ve already mentioned the benefits of watermelon many times in my earlier articles. It doesn’t contain any fat and is very low in calories. A single glass of watermelon will give you roughly 50 calories, but fills you up very easily. The watermelon is also rich in Vitamins A, B, C and lycopene. Several studies have proved that it protects against cancer and heart diseases.

If you’re following the General Motors diet or any diet for that matter, including the watermelon in your diet will help you eat fewer calories than normal, thereby letting you lose weight faster.

This special fruit is very beneficial for weight loss. Many studies have proved that people who consume grapefruit every day have lost more weight than their counterparts who didn’t eat this fruit.
