GM Diet Modified Version: Lose 2-3 Kgs in 5 Days

Disclaimer: I’m not a nutritionist or a dietitian, but I know a thing or two about how to lose weight naturally. I am just writing based on my personal trial and errors. What worked for me may not work for you. So, please follow this GM diet modified version after knowing all the pros and cons and at your own risk.

Anyways, since this is a pure natural diet plan, there won’t be any major health complications, except some typical issues like Nausea (for eating same kind of foods repeatedly), Slight headaches (for adding less salt and sticking with the basic food types) etc…However, you can overcome these little side effects by following a few tips like drinking more water and trying different Green tea recipes as mentioned on our blog.

Without further due, let us discuss about the modified GM diet plan. Well, not many people like to follow a diet for 7 days in order to lose weight. Some of our readers even shot me with similar questions and that inspired me to come up with the 5 days GM diet plan. Yes! You heard it right. This five day meal plan is mainly for those who wanted to lose a very little amount of weight like 2 or 3 Kgs and cannot diet for 1 week. I even tried this diet myself and found that it is much easier than the 1 week General Motors diet. I’ve lost 2.5 kgs in 5 days, which is a pretty good deal.

GM Diet Modified Version: Lose 2 to 3 Kgs in 5 Days

Modified GM Diet Plan

To be frank, there is no major change in the diet plan, except that you’ll combining few common days so that the total days of the diet would get to the 5 day count instead of 7.

Note: The below are just sample meal plans for easy understanding. You can, however replace those foods based on your likes and dislikes. But, only pick the food types suggested on any particular day and avoid those foods that are not allowed to consume.

Day 1

As usual, you’ll be avoiding Banana and eat all varieties of fruits like Apple, Watermelon, Pineapple, Papaya, Orange, Pears etc… But, I personally experienced that eating more melons on this day would result in better weight loss results.

Sample Meal Plan

  • Breakfast: Apple
  • Mid-Morning Snack: Oranges
  • Lunch: Watermelon
  • Evening Snack: Pears
  • Dinner: Papaya

Since most of the fruits contain higher water content, you can just drink 2 liters of water on this day.

Day 2

This is where the modification begins. You can replace the second day with Day 3 i.e., fruits & veggies combo. However, avoid the Potato & Banana completely from this day’s diet. Excluding those two, you can have any variety of fruits and vegetables of your choice. List of vegetables include – Cabbage, Cauliflower, Beetrooot, Carrot, Broccoli, Cucumber, Tomato and other Greens.

Sample Meal Plan

  • Breakfast: Apple & Orange
  • Mid-Morning Snack: Beetroot, Cucumber & Carrot
  • Lunch: Watermelon or Papaya
  • Evening Snack: Cabbage Soup aka Wonder Soup
  • Dinner: Watermelon or Papaya or Apple

Along with these items, try to consume at least 2 to 3 liters of water today.

Day 3

You can have Bananas on this day along with milk. However, remember that the limitation on quantity of foods start from today. You’re allowed to eat 4 large or 6 medium sized Bananas along with a total of 750 ml Skimmed milk (contains low fat but full of nutrients).

Sample Meal Plan

  • Breakfast: 1 Banana & 250 ml of milk (milkshake or have them separately; your choice)
  • Mid-Morning Snack: 1 Banana
  • Lunch: Cabbage soup
  • Evening Snack: 1 Banana & 250 ml of milk
  • Dinner: 2 Bananas and if still hungry, then have the soup.

Make sure you increase the water intake on this day as it will help your body flush out the wastes through urine.

Day 4

Here, we’ve combined the day 4 & 5 of the regular version in order to create a modified GM diet version. On this day, you’ll be eating 500 g of meat (beef/chicken/fish) along with vegetables of your choice (no potato). If you’re a vegetarian, then replace the meat with either brown rice or Paneer (Indian cheese).

Sample Meal Plan

  • Breakfast: 150 g of grilled chicken (or beef or fish) along with veg salad (or) 150 g of cooked brown rice with vegetables.
  • Mid-Morning Snack: Tomatoes, Cucumber & Beetroot
  • Lunch: Chicken soup (with 100 g) or Cabbage soup
  • Evening Snack: Tomatoes, Carrot & boiled broccoli
  • Dinner: 250 g of grilled chicken with salt and pepper for taste (or) Vegetable pulao with brown rice & Paneer.

Since the foods that you were having today are high protein foods, you’ll need to increase the water intake from 3 to 4 liters in order to flush them out of your body.

Day 5

And finally, we’re on the last of the GM diet modified version. This is same as the day 7 of the regular General Motors diet. You can have brown rice, vegetables and fruit juices.

Sample Meal Plan

  • Breakfast: Brown rice Pulao with Sprouts & vegetables
  • Mid-Morning Snack: A glass of juice made from any of your favorite fruit (no banana pls)
  • Lunch: Cabbage soup
  • Evening Snack: Fruit juice
  • Dinner: Brown rice pulao with Paneer and veggies.

You should also drink 2 to 3 liters of water today. Water plays a major role in losing weight naturally. So, don’t ignore it.
